South African Election Satisfaction Survey (ESS) 2004: Voters - All provinces

This data set contains responses of South African legible voters in the 2004 national and provincial assembly elections aged 18 years and older.

All 200 selected voting stations were visited on election day. The number of voters interviewed was 14 227 and the data set contains 26 variables.

The questionnaire questions included the distance traveled to the voting station, means of transport utilised, time spent in the voting queue, perception of IEC officials' competence, and perception of the freeness and fairness of the election.

This data set contains responses of election observers in the 2009 National elections.

Topics covered in the questionnaire are: voting station accessibility, voting building or structure conditions, security at the voting stations, weather conditions on the voting day, political party activities at the voting station, political party posters at the voting station, disturbances inside this voting station, complaint lodged or expressed dissatisfaction at the voting station, election observer's biographical details.

The data set for dissemination contains 62 variables and 352 cases.

This data set contains responses of South African legible voters in the 2009 National elections citizens aged 18 years and older.

In terms of the number of voting stations, a 100% realisation rate was achieved. All 400 selected voting stations were therefore visited on Election Day. The number of voters interviewed was 13 882 from the expected 14,000 which represented 99% response rate and the data set contains 55 variables.

The questionnaire questions included the distance traveled to the voting station, means of transport utilised, time spent in the voting queue, perception of IEC officials' competence, and perception of the freeness and fairness of the election.

The data set for dissemination contains 76 variables and 194 cases.

In terms of the number of voting stations, a 100% realisation rate was achieved. All 300 selected voting stations were therefore visited on Election Day.

Investigating employer interaction with the Employment Services of South Africa (ESSA) 2013 - All provinces

The data set contains information from employers who have registered vacancies on the ESSA database and covers topics regarding the size and location of their industries, the profile of the work force, experience with ESSA and other recruitment channels used.

The data set contains 265 cases and 94 variables. 265 of the 605 employers realised providing a 43.8% realisation.
