The Evaluation of the Expanded Public Works Programme II (EPWP II) 2009-2014 in KwaZulu-Natal

This data set contains the responses from 476 participants regarding household demographic information, poverty perceptions, household income and expenditure patterns, food and nutrition security, asset status of the household, health status, children and education, unemployment and poverty, employment and income generating history of household members, credit risk, general overview of the EPWP project, EPWP employment, skill and training profile, and personal/household benefit from EPWP. The study targeted 400 EPWP beneficiaries and the actual realised sample was 376 EPWP current and past beneficiaries from 15 EPWP projects in 4 KZN districts. The study also targeted 100 non-beneficiaries for comparisons. The data set contains 476 cases and 1087 variables. |

The data set contains information from employers who have registered vacancies on the ESSA database and covers topics regarding the size and location of their industries, the profile of the work force, experience with ESSA and other recruitment channels used. The data set contains data collected from professional and non-professional health workers pertaining to biographical information of respondent, workload, job satisfaction, staff morale, working hours, absence from work during the past year, caring for HIV/AIDS patients, HIV/AIDS-related policies/procedures, fear of transmitting/contracting HIV/AIDS through contact, spouse/colleagues feelings and stigma. There are additional variables in the data set, which include sector, HIV test results and weight. |

Innovation for Inclusive Development (IID) Policy Seminars and the Government Cluster Policy Workshops (GCPWs) Series 2016-17 
|
The Innovation for Inclusive Development (IID) Policy Seminars and the Government Cluster Policy Workshops (GCPWs) Series is a collaboration between the Department of Science and Technology (DST) and the Human Sciences Research Council (HSRC). The IID Seminars emerged out of a concern that, despite various pilots, demonstration and technology transfer initiatives, there are still challenges faced by the introduction and integration of STI-based interventions to effectively and efficiently support the achievement of inclusive development.
These challenges indicate a need for a holistic and systems level intervention that will ensure that innovation fully supports inclusive development. Such interventions would include providing guidance and strengthening the NSI to support the inclusive development agenda through appropriate mechanisms such as human capital development, financial and non-financial incentives, impact monitoring and evaluation, as well as hosting seminars. The IID Policy Seminars are such interventions.

South African Social Attitudes Survey (SASAS) 2005: Questionnaire 2 - All provinces

The questions contained in the core modules of the two SASAS questionnaires for 2005 (demographics and core thematic issues) were asked of 7000 respondents, while the remaining rotating modules were asked of a half sample of approximately 3500 respondents each. The data set contains 2884 records and 313 variables. Topics included in the questionnaires are: democracy, national identity, public services, moral issues, crime, voting, demographics and other classificatory variables. Rotating modules are: International Social Surveys Programme (ISSP) module â Work orientation, intergroup relations, Soccer World Cup, democracy part 2, water services and poverty. |

The data set contains 2939 records and 388 variables. Topics included in the questionnaires are: democracy, identity, public services, moral issues, crime, voting, demographics and other classificatory variables. Rotating modules are: communication, International Social Surveys Programme (ISSP) module, national identity, social exclusion, poverty, tourism and leisure, media and communication, work and welfare. |
