The questions contained in SASAS questionnaire two for 2010 were asked of a half sample of approximately 3500 respondents.

Topics included in the questionnaire are: Environment [ISSP 2010], financial literacy, voting, respondent and household characteristics, personal and household income and other classificatory variables.

The data set for dissemination contains 3112 cases and 314 variables.

The FSB used a multidimensional approach to financial literacy, which centres on four principal domains: namely, day-to-day money management, financial planning, choosing appropriate products, and financial knowledge and understanding. Subsequent to the dissemination of version 1 of this data set it was discovered that the data contained client modules that were under embargo. These modules were removed from the data and a new data set disseminated as version 2.
